Chiltern prides itself in being a friendly, family orientated running club, that has a proud competitive running team, and individuals that have excelled in competitive athletics in road running and cross country.
Chiltern Athletic Club is a community athletics club that aims to provide its members with a club that is affiliated to the KZN Athletics, which is in turn affiliated with the IAAF, in order to compete in sanctioned athletics events. It further provides social cohesion to the surrounding community by providing our social members with a fitness outlet. To encourage fitness catering for the whole family we provide for walkers, beginners and a secure environment for children to play in while their parents are out exercising.
The club emphasises the involvement of the whole family to ensure that spouses and children are not excluded.
The club arranges weekly training runs and time trials from the clubhouse as well as weekend training runs and trail running.
Chiltern Athletic Club competes in the ladies time trail league and the mixed time trial league as well as hosting one of each of these league events at our club every year.
The club also participates in the cross country league with several club members representing KZN at the national champs.
We have a strong Comrades culture and run a successful training programme every year to take new and experienced runners through to a Comrades medal.
The club also hosts a beginners programme called the Scratch Club to introduce novice runners to the joys of running.
We encourage anyone who is considering exercising to join us on a Tuesday and Thursday evening at 17h45 to meet out friendly club members and experience the warmth of our community club.
